Sound Opinions: Liana Bank$ – Off

Liana Bank$ drops 'off' this hot new single

Seeing Liana Bank$ tearing down the stage a few weeks back at Knitting Factory (pictured below), it’s hard to imagine she hasn’t done a tons of shows. As she flexed on stage for Adrian Daniel‘s show, the green-haired songstress performed “Off“, little did I know the song was dropping right after that on her soundcloud.

The Queens newcomer isn’t a baby in the game tho, she’s been in the business and wanted to be an artist after her taste of the industry as a backing dancer for Chris Brown. She drops this doozy of a track, speaking on her moving on from old things, finding some new things, and taking off some other things. At the show, the song’s build up and explosive start boomed out of the subs, and the moves that accompanied it came with a flirty flair that made me take twice when I pressed play.

“This is the song she did at the show!…so she finessed the new single at the show with her dancers…that s*** was dope” and here we are.

A sense of freedom is a very inert need, and empowering one’s self is crucial to mentally challenge your progress, her verses paint this picture in a big way wrapped up in a playfully sexy track. Even though she shared with Idolator, it’s more about the dangers of consumerism, her songwriting is one I find very moment-to-moment, as you get immersed in the story she’s laying out in front of you, and her strong narrative is something I enjoy. Having a strong meaning to the language used is just another checkbox on my pervious sentence. This one was produced by YOBO, who has also been responsible for a lot of Liana’s current works.
