Sound Opinions: Laya LaRoché – Deaded

Ever had a crazy relationship? No I mean like, I-can-write-a-Tyler-Perry-movie crazy? Well Laya Roché gives us a soulful rendition of such an event with Deaded. A gritty, 50s mystery movie feeling type of production from Kareem Wright, accompanied by some killer cover art, we have a solid track from the Alley Cat Gang‘s leader on our hands. From phone calls, to the chilling harmonics, the shock value is crazy as we find out Laya has probably deaded a dude or two on her own. On my first (fifth) listen my reaction was “This hook is so amazingly R&B is make me want to get a Sean John sweatsuit” and I still stand by that statement. Waiting for some crazy visuals for this one, the story is already there.
