Sound Opinions: Goldlink -Movin’ On f/ Louie Lastic

If you don’t peep the sample from jump, you don’t deserve to be a hip hop fan. Goldlink gives us a groovy little story with production from Louie Lastic titled ‘Movin’ On‘. Lastic also did a few tracks on Link’s debut project “The God Complex” and doesn’t disappoint in keeping you moving. My guess is this might be a loosie since ‘Dance on Mejust got a video and seems to still be the single for the upcoming project.

A catchy hook is almost damn near signature for Goldlink, and his exposition on the relationship with his main squeeze while touring is littered with references and fast-flaying bars. I also find a strange relationship between the song the sample came from, and Link’s content, sounds like ‘Movin” is a ‘I Get Around’ if Tupac had a shorty at home, I could be overthinking. Overall, this is a fun song and the cover art, done by Melody Hansen helps to drive that home.

Put this on repeat, stand up, learn the words, R.I.P. Tupac
