Sound Opinions: Chelsea Reject – Burning Bridges [Prod. by King Carlow]

CMPLX is slated to drop May 11th, so until then we get another fire track from Chelsea Reject titled Burning Bridges. Produced by King Carlow, for me this was a perfect last-drop-before-the-project track, you will agree as you hear more of the increasingly actualized lyrics, the flexible flow, and overall thematic energy brought to the table. Trying to get into the rap game is a struggle to say the least, people change and certain things you have to let go of, and this time around Chelsea wraps the song around that idea. In particular, Burning Bridges reminded me of the level of honesty maintained throughout the young MC’s soon-to-be-bigger discography, from speaking on her views on the community of rap, to her day-to-day concerns. Refreshing to say the least, Bridges further increases the anticipation is for her sophomore project.

‘CMPLX’ album release show on Monday, May 11 @ Mercury Lounge in NYC.
