Sound Opinions: Adrian Daniel – PRIDE

Adrian Daniel has been increasingly been churning out different, increasingly genre-less music over the last few years, and now the first single off his debut album is out, and ‘PRIDE‘ sounds amazing. Produced by Rudy Carino, the fusion of old and new seems to be cultivated, home grown, and refined in this song. With MJ style ad-libs, subtle instrumentation and even scatting, this is a fresh song that channels that clean grit from the classic music our parents loved, and presents it with the fresher sounds of contemporary music. The slow shift moving away from copying and towards being inspired by music can find new grounds to traverse, which seems impossible in this day and age. Hearing songs like PRIDE make that seem not too far off.

In a recent interview he stated that the song “is about taking the pain from not having a mother or father and redirecting it towards someone you love” being inspired by a few life events, a few sories and bringing them to light up a emotional topic that many succumb to. For the sake of art, Daniel has a longer version to the song on his soundcloud, along with a Vlog he dropped on his website at the same time, so if you’re into artsy stuff then indulge yourself.
