J. Cole – Be Free [Mike Brown inspired]

In the last few days, supporters of the Mike Brown case have begun to wonder many things, one being: Where are our celebrities? Don’t they have anything to say about what’s going on? While a lot of celebrities are doing the Ice Bucket Challenge for Lou Gehrig’s disease, not many have commented on what’s taking place in Ferguson. J. Cole was notably the first artist to respond that generated any news, and rightfully so.  He dropped this powerful, emotional response to what is happening in Ferguson and just days after, he went to Ferguson to protest first hand. If you haven’t had a chance to listen to “Be Free,” we have it here for you.

“Rest in Peace to Michael Brown and to every young black man murdered in America, whether by the hands of white or black. I pray that one day the world will be filled with peace and rid of injustice. Only then will we all Be Free.” – Cole
