Sound Opinions: AK – Blessings in the Grey [EP]

It was just a matter of time before we put y’all on to AK’s Blessings in the Grey EP.

If you’ve been rocking with us for some time, you’ve already met AK, who is one-half of the The Underachievers, a Flatbush-born rap duo. The other half being Issa Gold, who has already graced our Head Nod Therapy for his solo project Conversations with a Butterfly.

There’s a slight, but distinct difference in the two artists’ sounds.  While Issa talks about women, love, and his views on certain things, AK shares a little more about his life.  His positive messages to motivate others are more prominent than his lyrical counterpart. The harshness in AK’s voice, gives a different feel right off the bat, leaving you asking “…but why did he go so hard?”  AK’s single track from the mixtape “Winner” features Leaf, the only feature on the mixtape. Any fan of lyricism will thoroughly enjoy this tape, and the positive messages intertwined with AK’s self-honesty and strong beliefs keep your mind engaged and your head bopping.   Indulge in what AK has to offer with Blessings in the Grey.
